“I started my career at Cargill as a supply chain management trainee and got the chance to work in different offices in Cargill. In a timeframe of less than 5 years, I built a very strong network from origin to destination in the supply chain of our commodities. These experiences enriched me personally and gave me a broad vision of the company and have added value to my job today.”

With ideas, energy and the ability to build effective relationships, I can make a lasting contribution to customers and communities around the world.

Describe your work responsibilities and the importance of your role.

I am responsible for the supply chain activities that come along with the assets of our BU in the Benelux. My team manages the contract execution, document handling, stock levels, shipments and quality of incoming raw materials and output products (meal, vegetable oils, and biodiesel). My team consists of four sub-teams of which two are located in the Netherlands and two in Belgium. Cargill is originally a trading house, but there is an increasing attention to the supply chain around it, where there is a lot of value to create and money to make. It is inspiring to work in this dynamic environment.

Describe your day-to-day activities and the skills needed to perform well.

I spend a large amount of my time on people: new hires, job rotations, developing the necessary skills in the teams, arranging the appropriate trainings, coaching my team leads. As long as my teams are able to focus on running the business well, I do the right thing!
